FDA (Food & Drugs Administration), USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) have approved ozone as an antimicrobial agent “GRAS”.

USDA, NOP (National Organic Program) has approved ozone as an active substance for the sanitization of surfaces (plastics and Inox) in direct contact with food without rinsing and with no chemical residue.

The Italian Ministry of Health/ Department of Veterinary Food and Nutrition through Protocol n° 24482 of 31 July 1996 – has recognized ozone as a natural protection for the sterilization of environments contaminated by bacteria, viruses, spores, etc. and infested with mites, insects, etc.
